HP Printer Support

A lot of the problems that occur in laser printers are common and tend to appear frequently for all users. They can usually be attributed to design flaws or faulty equipment on the behalf of the manufacturer, and are sometimes easy to diagnose and repair. Below are a number of common error codes on HP’s most popular printer models.

Hewlett Packard Error Codes

13.XX Paper Jam

.01 & .02 Input jam from paper tray
.5 & .6 Fuser area jam
.10 - .21 Paper path jam

49. Error

  1. Power cycle printer
  2. Turn off printer, cancel all print jobs to printer. Turn printer back on, send print jobs one at a time until offending job is found.

50.X Fuser Error

  1. Turn off printer for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Fuser needs replaced.

51.X & 52.X Error – Laser/Scanner

  1. Power cycle printer
  2. If problem persists, call service.

54.2 Printer Error (4500/4550)

  1. Power cycle printer
  2. Open toner door and look for an obstruction.
  3. Remove and reseat toner cartridges.

79.XXXX Printer Error

  1. Power cycle printer.
  2. Try printing a job from a different software application. Go back to first application and try again.
  3. Verify all network connections and settings.
  4. Call service if error persists.

80.XXXX

  1. Power cycle printer.
  2. Reseat or replace network card.
  3. Verify all network connections and settings.
  4. Call service if error persists.

Perform Printer/User Maintenance

Maintenance kit needs to be installed.
